Our Values
Nurturing respect, kindness and care.
Our key values are respect, kindness, caring for the environment and family and community. Our philosophy is to encourage all children to learn with and alongside others in a safe and harmonious, yet challenging environment where children find a sense of well-being, belonging and are comfortable with daily routines and customs.
Our Philosophy
Our kaupapa is based on our set of key touchstones that are the foundation of our Philosophy.
We place a strong emphasis on children learning with, in and about nature.
We aspire for tamariki to feel a strong sense of well-being abd belonging and to grow as confident and competent learners. We focus on care and respect for nature, people, things, places and the environment in sustainable ways.
Te Tiriti O Waitangi, New Zealand's bi-cultural heritage guides and influences all that we do. All children are respected and empowered as unique individuals.
Whānau Tangata-Family & Community and reciprocal collaborative partnerships are valued. We aim to be inclusive of all cultural backgrounds of the families and encourage parent collaboration and involvement. We actively foster relationships with and in the wider community. We believe successful transitions are vital for a sense of belonging and connectedness.
Our philosophy/Kaupapa is underpinned by a place-based educational approach where we encourage children to expand their horizons and explore their place, time and ecological responsibility.
We value play-based learning and thrive to provide purposeful and intentional opportunities to enhance the children’s learning in all areas of the curriculum.
